The new T37 design will replace the old EP 36 design that was built in 1994. The new Hinckley picnic boat will have two powerful water jets, unlike the EP 36 design, which had one engine. Hinckley says that its engineers looked at existing engine packages in the market and decided to go ahead with twin-engine design that would be compact and lighter if the hull design was tweaked a little a little.

The Hinckley T37 picnic boat is a foot longer than the old EP 36 design, with a length of 36 feet, 11 inches.

The Hinckley picnic boat will cost  $715,000. Hinckley says that 16 of the new T37 picnic boats are ready on order. The T37 picnic boat is powered by the twin Volvo D-4 300HP diesel engines and Hamilton 274 jet drives, and controlled by Hinckley’s patented Hinckley JetStick control system.

With the change in hull design and the twin engines, the new picnic boat now has a cruising speed of 27 knots versus 24 knots, and a top speed of 31 knots as opposed to the old design’s top speed of 27 knots.

The two engines are placed below the deck of the new Hinckley picnic boat providing more storage space, that is is built in under the pilothouse settees, under aft-facing cockfit seats, port and starboard lockers, and removable bins under the transom seat. The pilothouse windows and hatches can be operated from the captain and passenger seats, and the overhead hatches are fitted with retractable blinds and screens.

The new Hinckley T37 picnic boat has added seating, open-deck design, raised pilothouse, with the pilot seat finished with varnished teak. Hinckley says that the new design allows an open and airy view from the pilot house.

The interior of the Hinckley T37 picnic boat, below the deck, is done in cherry, teak, and holly and has the warmth and elegance of the classic Hinckley boats.

One of the best features of the Hinckley T37 picnic boat is that it is totally soundproof. The pilot house and cabin overheads are soundproof, and the engine compartment are insulated with different thickness Mylar-faced acoustical insulation. The exhaust system is quiet because of custom waterdrop mufflers and an integrated underwater outlets.
