Dubbed as a fuel efficient ad eco-friendly small car, the Fiat Panda is the third version of Fiat’s widely-acclaimed city car announced this summer. UK dealerships are offering a choice of two Panda cars, namely the Panda Active ECO and Dynamic ECO. While the Panda Active ECO comes powered by a 1.1-litre petrol engine which develops 54 bhp at 5000 rpm, the Panda Dynamic ECO sports a 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 60 bhp at 5000 rpm. Fuel consumption of the Panda models are supposed to be better than comparable cars.
Reviewers have said that the Fiat panda Active ECO and Dynamic ECO models return 42.8 mpg in the urban cycle; 68.3 mpg extra urban; and 56.5 mpg combined. While the panda Active ECO runs a maximum speed of 93 mph, with a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 15 seconds, the Dynamic ECO touches 96 mph with a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 14 seconds.
The British car market is already seeing a good number of buyers for the models that cost just £100 more than their parent versions. The price tags show that Fiat Panda Active ECO costs £7,105 while the Panda Dynamic ECO comes for £7,705. The cars come loaded with user friendly features. While Active ECO boasts of the immobiliser, driver and passenger airbag, ABS anti-lock braking with EBD, electric power steering, Follow Me Home headlights and electric front windows; the Dynamic ECO gets remote central locking, colour coded bumpers and a CD/MP3 player as additions.
True to Fiat’s quest at planet-friendliness, the two new Panda small car variants are a proud addition to Fiat dealerships in UK. In low CO2 vehicles, Fiat has been doing very well indeed. Specially crafted, low rolling resistance tyres as well as the low viscosity engine oil helps the Panda ECO cut emissions.
