Chopped Cars – not what you expect!

Car accidents are nothing to make fun of – as anybody who has been in accident would know with extreme clarity.

Side impacts are the worst kind of accidents. Even luxury cars struggle to get decent ratings. Deaths are almost too easy. These are cases where the impact was to the side or middle of a car.

Here are a few pics of cars which got chopped – vertically! – into two in horrible accidents. The drivers and passengers escaped without a serious harm in two of them, but the third car’s occupants were not so lucky. Four dead.

Chopped Honda Civic

This accident look place near Bangkok. Seems the driver was overtaking another car – and ran right into a truck whose driver was carelessly reversing on the road instead of going ahead to take a U-turn. This is what he ended up with. The impact cut the car into two pieces – but he was lucky enough to escape without any serious damage, and we hear these photos were taken by the driver himself.

The rear end of the car ended up some 30 meters from where the front and driver landed. Lucky there were no passengers. The Civic does not have side curtain airbags – not that it would have protected the occupant from this type of accident anyway.

Audi – (can’t figure out the model)

Seems this happened in Russia somewhere. It originally appeared in a Russian car forum which since seems to have disappeared from the interwebs. Again, the driver escaped unhurt.

At least, most of the front is not squashed – the damage was more in the rear of the car which explains how the driver escaped from this one. Would have been worse, though, if the front end had banged up against that tree there.

Chopped Ford Ikon – the worst

Ford Ikon split in two!

This is the worst of them all. This is a car most of you are not familiar with. It is a Ford Ikon, a car that is mostly sold in India. In an effort to make the car affordable, like many other local car companies, Ford did not particularly care about the crash safety of this car. Result? Peppy car to run, but a tin can in an accident.

This accident though was caused by a teen driver and his friends, all of who were drunk and speeding on a road where the speed limit was 35 mph. The driver lost control, the car banged against the median, bounced over the median, whipped across the lanes and banged against a lamp post. End result: 4 deaths.

That’s it now, folks. Drive safely, and take care.

I believe the Audi is (or used to be) an A8. Must’ve been some speeds btw.
