The UK’s largest gathering of cars and car makers would get underway July 23, 2008. The British International Motor Show, will see more than 60 manufacturers present their creations, and the line-up is expected to include as many as 15 marques making their debut.
It is expected that the Italian brands Ferrari and Maserati will be among the car makers that would make their first appearance at the water-side venue. Industry sources said that the manufacturers would showcase their new range of luxury and sports cars.
Subaru and Suzuki who will debut at the British International Motor Show, will have company in the form of electric vehicle specialists Quiet Cars and Tesla. The brands will be joined by nine other first-timers, including Westfield, Isuzu, Zagato, LSE, Brabus and AC Schnitzer. Supercar manufacturers Koenigsegg and Gumpert and luxury sports car firm Spyker would add to the debutants at British International Motor Show.
Many a car maker is expected to use the event for global roll outs of their new models. It is expected that new cars, such as the Vauxhall/Opel Insignia and the all-new sports car from Lotus might see the wraps go off for the first time at the venue. More such announcements are expected in the coming days.
British International Motor Show organizers believe that the July 2008 event will outshine last year’s show by all means. ExCeL in 2006 had seen as many as 4,15,000 people attending the event. With more exciting newcomers and some fantastic machines expected to be showcased, this years British International Motor Show might see more attendance. The cars that might attract enthusiasts attention could be the 200 mph Koenigsegg Edition and the ultra-exclusive Gumpert Apollo.
The absentees could be BMW, Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche , who is not expected to showcase their models this year at British International Motor Show. Organisers say that with so many new additions to the show line-up, and with over half a million people expected to attend, visitors and exhibitors are sure to will enjoy a great experience this year.
