The company, which is part of Hong Kong-based Riche Holdings, has debuted its Beira as a  two-seat roadster with unique styling cues, based on proven GM architecture and powered by GM’s LS2, 6-litre V8 engine, tuned to produce just a whisper short of 400bhp.

The Breckland Beira, though manufactured in Norfolk, UK will be sold in the US. The car pictured here comes with left hand drive – a rarity in the UK. At this point, we are not sure if Breckland will offer the Beira in the UK with a right hand drive. They sure are planning to sell it there — the Beira is available at a price of 55,000 pounds in the UK, and at $ 110,000 in the US. But the Beira would take its own sweet time to reach American shores, apparently, but reach it will.

We are not if the photos do justice to the Beira. Because it is a $110,000 car, and it just does not look good enough for that! Maybe it is the black paint that is to blame? Looks a bit bland to us. And it just can’t be, at that price, we are sure.

The company, which has experience in developing high-quality, low volume specialist cars and prototypes for an array of prestigious international clients, is now again in the limelight with its own limited-production supercar. Weighig close to 1,400 kg, the Beira’s power-to-weight ratio ensures invigorating performance, with the promise of a sub-five second sprint to 100kph, coupled with tremendous torque and a governed top speed of 155mph, the report added.

Breckland has said that the new Beira carries on from where Marcos and TVR left off in terms of providing maximum performance for money spent, and real individuality. The company is looking to showcase its design and engineering capabilities through the Beira, which boasts of superlative handling dynamics, performance and good looks.

Based on the General Motors Kappa platform, Beira however is different from the GM vehicles that are on the roads. The POntiac’s Solstice’s four cylinder engine, though, is swapped out for a proper V8. That explains those sub-5 second acceleration figures.

The company has also brought to the fore its concern for the environment by designing the new vehicle to run on Liquefied Petroleum Gas as well as petrol.  The report pointed out that the company aims at reducing running costs and emissions, and also doing 700 miles between refuelling stops.
