Germany’s roads are seeing an overdose of the Audi A4. The country has reportedly seen as many as 98,714 A4 models from the Audi stables drive out to customers’ homes in year 2008.
According to auto news reports, among the premium models currently available in Germany, only the Audi A4 raced ahead to post this magic numbers among registrations made last year. Meanwhile, the other popular model rolled out from the Audi assembly line, the A6, has also brought in the laurels for the company. It has topped its segment with as many as 45,304 registrations last year. Another model, the second generation of the Audi TT design icon, has gone on to see registrations of up to 10,630 in Germany. This in fact also made the TT the most successful sports car in European country during year 2008. The Audi TT TDI was launched as the first production sports car powered by a diesel engine.
The company’s top brass believe that Audi has been growing stronger than any of the other premium car making rivals. Endorsing this are the numbers. Audi has been able to boost market share in the German market to 8.1 percent, which is in fact a rise of 0.8 percent. Industry observers believe that Audi has managed to be the only premium brand that has succeeded so well and enhanced market position in such a laudable manner. The growth graph continues to be on the uptrend. The new models are seen as spurring further growth.
Incidentally, keeping in line with the expansion route, Audi has also begun upgrading its models to a further level. It is said to be bringing in its S4 Sedan and Avant to European dealerships soon. The A4 Avant model has gone on to be best seller in its class after it was unveiled in April last year. Meanwhile, the upgraded model of the A6 was launched in September 2008, and has gone ahead to be the most successful business sedan in the whole of Germany.
