Taking off from the success of the 4.3 litre Vantage N24, Aston Martin Racing is now lining up a 2009 specification Vantage GT4. The car is based on Aston Martin’s new 4.7-litre V8 Vantage.

According to auto news reviews, the car maker had been developing the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 during the past six months. The car has finally been unveiled in Dubai during the last week. Said to be a take off from the Aston Martin N24, the new model comes with a larger capacity engine. The 4.7 litre eight cylinder engine of the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 has an engine management system recalibrated for race use. It also has a free flow exhaust system and air filters, and the standard V8 dry sump lubrication system is retained, helping to prevent oil surge during cornering.

Among the various additions to the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 is a new suspension that enhances handling.The 2009 Vantage GT4 also has larger front brake discs with revised cooling. Built to FIA GT4 regulations, the car is eligible to compete in the FIA GT4 European Cup; British GT4 Championship; Britcar Endurance Series; German GT4 Championship; Dutch Supercar Challenge; Dutch GT4 Championship; VLN Endurance Championship at the Nurburgring; Australian Endurance Championship; the American SCCA Championship; and the Aston Martin Owners Club Race Series, the company has said.
In the UK car mart, the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 will be available in both manual as well as sport shift transmission. According to a review, the car can be supplied with either a six speed manual, or a Sportshift transmission with paddle controls and both the versions would have a Valeo twin-plate cerametallic racing clutch and lightweight flywheel to complete the powertrain specification.
the Aston Martin Vantage GT4 will come with a price tag of £96,645. It is expected that the car might get to showrooms by January 2009.
