We are only half-way through 2010 – so there is no guarantee that the shape of the car would remain as you can see in the photos. In the spy shots, though, the car is well-camouflaged. The basic shape of the Civic 2012 model is clear enough, however.
Unlike earlier spy shots where nothing was visible in the photos, the latest pics of the 2012 Civic disclose a lot of the new bodywork and the coupe-like roofline with fresh-looking doors, lights and glass. We are also told that the European Civic would be available in petrol and diesel engines, along with a hybrid version.
Here is what we noticed from the spy pics of the 2012 Honda Civic. The car we see in the spy pics is the hatch version which mostly won’t make it to India. The front-end of the car looks more or less similar to the current Civic that’s sold here. The tail lamps are now in an all-LED cluster and placed high on the boot. The engine options could be a new i-Vtec petrol unit that makes more than 140bhp. Now that Honda has made clear its intentions to stay away from diesels, another could be a hybrid.
The black camouflage in the spy photos do not reveal much for sure. But now that the car is being tested, we can be sure new photos of the 2012 Civic would leak pretty soon – and we will be there to bring them to you.
