Volkswagen has unveiled the 2010 Volkswagen Golf R at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, on September 15, 2009.

In terms of style, the 2010 Volkswagen Golf R has a more aggressive front-end with big air intakes, and LED daytime running lights.
In the rear, there are two large exhaust pipes in the center as in the R32 and LED tail-lights.
The 2010 Volkswagen Golf R comes with 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels and an interior with sporty accents.

Derived from the Volkswagen Golf V R32, the 2010 Volkswagen Golf R goes a step further.
For one, it comes with higher power developing 265 HP and a 258 lb-ft maximum torque of between 2,500 and 5,000 rpm via its turbocharged 2.0 litre four-cylinder petrol engine, compared to the Volkwagen Golf V R32’s 184kW power.
Also, the 2010 Volkswagen Golf R’s fuel consumption at just 8.5 litres, is 2.2 litres or 21 percent less than the fuel consumption of the Volkswagen Golf R32 at 10.7 litres.

The Volkswagen Golf R will come with the company’s 4 Motion all-wheel-drive, like the R32.
The 2010 Volkswagen Golf R can touch 100km/h in 5.7 seconds with the six-speed manual and 5.5 seconds with Volkswagen’s DSG transmission, the company has claimed. Maximum speed is electronically governed to be 155 mph.
The 2011 Volkswagen Golf R will be available for sale in Germany in end-2009, and in the US by 2011.
No information about the price of the 2011 Volkswagen Golf R has been revealed so far.
