The 2010 Honda VFR 1200 V4 photos suggest that the new Honda with single-sided swingarm and shaft-drive could turn out to be a competitor for Kawasaki 1400GTR.
The Honda VFR 1200 is said to feature a 1200-cc engine with selectable cylinder deactivation system. This feature will reduce fuel consumption by halting fuel supply to specific cylinders under low load conditions, such as when running at a constant speed on a highway.

This technology has been used in Honda’s four wheelers and has proved to be efficient as there has been noticeable increase in the mileage of vehicles.
When the cylinders are shut, the engine virtually becomes a 600cc parallel-twin engine, which increases the fuel economy.
Honda President Takeo Fukui, had said that such a technology could increase the 2010 Honda VFR 1200 V4’s economy by 30 per cent.

According to MCN, ride-by-wire throttle and brakes, electronically adjustable suspension, C-ABS and an airbag are some of the other noticeable features of the bike.
Some unconfirmed reports say that the 2010 Honda VFR 1200 V4 will have a top speed of 300k/h and horsepower of about 200hp.
According to Honda’s Senior Managing Director, Shigeru Takagi, the 2010 Honda VFR 1200 V4 powered motorcycle will be officially launched in the market in 2010.

” This bike will be the perfect road machine that Honda customers have called for. It will be an epoch-making machine and more bikes from the V4 platform are possible,” Takagi was quoted as saying.

I spoke w/ a Houston Honda dealership today. Even they know very little @ the bike as of yet. Only a Honda test rider has been on one–most likely. I’ll be one when it’s available, that’s for sure!

Actually the horsepower is 172. It’s supposed to be at the dealerships spring 2010. I put a deposit down on one at Honda of Tulsa this past Friday.
