Honda plans to launch its new crossover vehicle, the 2010 Honda Crosstour in October 2009.

In the spy photos, the 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour looks like the 2010 Acura ZDX that was displayed at the New York Motor Show earlier in 2009.

However, reports say that Honda has clarified that both the cars are different and distinct.

Motor Trend has reported that that the 2010 Honda Crosstour will not use the MDX-sourced 3.7L found in the Acura ZDX.

The 2010 Accord Crosstour is likely to use the current Honda Accord’s pair of 2.4L four-cylinders or theĀ  271-hp 3.5L V-6 with an all-wheel-drive option.

There are no details available about the other specifications or price of the 2010 Honda Crosstour. Car and Driver magazine has predicted that the 2010 Accord Crosstour may sport a price tag of approximately $25,000.

Honda hopes to boost its flagging sales in the US with the 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour.

American Honda Motor reported a 34 per cent drop in sales in June 2009, from 142,539 units, in June 2008, to 100,420 vehicles in June 2009.

Also, it sales in the January-July 2009 period amounted to 530,778 units as compared to the 798,358 units that American Honda Motor sold during the same period in 2008.
