Two-Up ATVs have always fascinated us at DWS Motor. We published one story about a two-up ATV that could passenger a long time back, and that was a Bombardier Two Rider series one.
Now another Two-Up ATV has caught our fancy again, and it is the Arctic Cat TRV 1000 H2 EFI Cruiser – the royal court of two-up ATVs, as the company describes it. Arctric Cat has designed the TRV 1000 Cruiser to comfortably and saely carry two riders in tandem on the trail. And its a big brute, as you can see from the photo here.
Conveniences abound. You get 12 inch aluminum wheels, secure footrests for the rear passenger and comfy backrest. There are heated handgrips, a fairing and windshield, and a lockable travel case for storing your stuff.
The 951 CC fuel injected V-twin engine of the 2010 Arctic Cat TRV 1000 is superbly smooth and powerful. The company has not released the horsepower and torque ratings of the TRV 1000 H2 EFI Cruiser so far, probably to tweak it just before the launch. There is no information on the fuel economy either.
You can easily switch from 2WD to 4-wheel drive on the fly at the touch of a button. Even activating the front differential lock is as simple as toggling a switch.
The transmission is of the automatic CVT variety, has a Hi/Lo gear and a reverse gear. All brakes are hydraulic discs for better stopping power.
The suggested retail price of the Arctic Cat TRV 1000 H2 EFI Two-Up ATV is US $ 12,699.
