Yamah’s 600 cc contendor, the 2009 XJ6 Diversion is almost here.

The European version of the motorcycle that will take on the Honda CB600F, kawasaki ER-6n and Suzuki GSR600 will be known in the United States as the FZ6R. The US version of the Diversion will also be fully faired.

The first pictures are here, and we thought best bring you a photo gallery. Not that the motorcycle is especially good-looking - the XJ6 Diversion / FZ6R is a bit of a dowdy, though clean-looking, motorcycle.

Here goes the basic specs of the 2009 XJ6 Diversion / FZ6R:

599cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four cylinder engine that churns out 78 bhp @ 11,500 RPM, produces its peak torque of 60 Nm @ 8,500rpm. The XJ6 Diversion / FZ6R weighs some 210 kilos - don’t think that makes for a light motorcycle. ABS is an option, and we would always you should go for it.

US prices of the Diversion / FZ6R are expected to be around 7000 $.
