2009 Yamaha MT-01 SP launched in Europe

Yamaha has launched a limited-edition SP version of the Yamaha MT-01, that it had launched in September 2004.

The 2009 Yamaha MT-01 SP comes with some new features but essentially remains the same. The engine of the 2009 Yamaha MT-01 SP is still the same 1,670cc v-twin engine, which produces 90 horsepower at 4,750rpm and 150Nm of torque at 3,750 revs.

The 2009 Yamaha MT-01 SP comes with new 43-mm high-specification USD Öhlins fork and adjustable Öhlins rear shock. The Ohlins fork especially designed for the 2009 Yamaha MT-01 SP has optimal spring and damping settings.

The motorcycle has 17-inch wheels and Pirelli Diablo Rosso tyres with a 120/70 front and 190/50 rear. The tyres offer high turning quality and superior wet weather performance.

The 2009 Yamaha MT-01 SP motorcycle comes with better handling and improved road holding qualities and therefore allows the bikers to enjoy the engine’s huge low-rpm torque delivery.

The 2009 Yamaha MT-01 SP has fatter 28.6-mm diameter tapered handlebars and machined aluminum handlebar crown.

According to Yamaha, all these changes provide ‘a more intense experience of ‘Kodo,’ a Japanese expression for soul beat, pulsation or the external expression of latent power.

The 2009 Yamaha MT-01 SP comes in a red and white scheme. The motorcycle has a red and white fuel tank, a red front fender, and red chrome MT logo on the tank.

The motorcycle comes with a two-tone seat and gold wheels.
