Honda has revealed its updated 2009 Honda Civic sedan and coupe models that will now come with new style, engine, technology, and safety features. Honda has said that the new 2009 Civic sedan and coupe models will come with redesigned exterior styling features, which would include a new front bumper cover, new grille design, and new headlight plus new taillight color combinations. The 2009 Honda Civic EX, Honda Civic EX-L, and Honda Civic Si models will sport new alloy wheel designs. The 2009 Honda Civic Si model will come with new fog lamps.
The 2009 Honda Civic LX-S Sedan will have alloy wheels and sportier interior styling, while a new 2009 Honda Civic DX Value Package sedan builds on the Honda Civic DX Sedan’s standard features by adding air conditioning and an audio system.
The 2009 Honda Civic will have stylish hues, and also feature Bluetooth HandsFreeLink and a USB Audio Interface 1. All the 2009 Honda Civic versions will run on traditional gasoline, hybrid, high performance and natural gas technologies.
The 2009 Honda Civic will be equipped with the Vehicle Stability Assist, an electronic stability control that will be standard on the Honda Civic EX-L and Honda Civic Hybrid, in addition to the Honda Civic Si.
Safety features including Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, side curtain airbags, driver’s and front passenger’s side airbags with a passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS), and dual-stage, dual-threshold driver’s and front passenger’s airbags (SRS).
These safety features are add-ons to the standard active safety features including an anti-lock brake system and electronic brake distribution, front seatbelts with an automatic tensioning system, and a pedestrian injury mitigation design incorporated into the front exterior.
On the engine front, the 2009 Honda Civic line up will come with four engine and four transmission choices that include the 1.8-liter i-VTEC engine for the 2009 Honda Civic DX, DX-VP, LX, EX and EX-L models. The 2009 Civic Hybrid would be powered by a 1.3-liter i-VTEC engine with integrated motor assist gasoline-electric hybrid technology to enhance both fuel economy and performance.
Meanwhile, the 2009 Honda Civic GX will be powered by a natural gas version of the Civic’s 1.8-liter i-VTEC engine and will be equipped with a 5-speed automatic transmission.
