Renault has unveiled the 2008 Renault Symbol at the Moscow Auto Show.

The 2008 Renault Symbol, which will be called the Renault Thalia is some markets, is a simple sedan. The 2008 Renault Symbol will be on sale in Eastern and Central Europe along with Turkey and Russia, in 2009.
The three-box, 2008 Renault Symbol is a practical sedan with a large boot and a 1.4-litre, 98bhp petrol unit. The Renault Symbol has 14- or 15-inch wheels, length of 4.26 metres, and height of 1.43 metres. In terms of looks, the Renault Symbol is low-key but has an attractive chrome trimming for the grille surround. The sound-proof cabin has a dashboard with rev-counter, warning lights and the trip computer display, and a chrome steering wheel trim.
Tipped as a fuel-efficient vehicle, the petrol- and diesel-powered versions of the 2008 Renault Symbol provide fuel consumption of 4.3 litres/100km with the 1.5 dCi 85hp engine, and 5.9 litres/100km with the 1.2 16V 75hp power plant.
Renault says that the 2008 Renault Symbol will be the precursor of a range of three-box Renault models.
The 2008 Renault Symbol has been manufactured by International Renault co-operation between its worldwide engineering teams.
