21 September, 2005: Hurry, 78th Oscar Awards' Red Carpet seats are on sale! Starting September 19, the Academy has put up some seats for a lucky draw onlne, and the winners will be selected through random
draws.
Oscar 2006 awards fans will be able to experience the ultimate Hollywood Red Carpet, by participating in an online drawing of lots to win one of the 300 bleacher seats. The Oscar 2006 (78th Academy Awards) prizes will be given out on March 5, 2006. The event, as usual, will be held at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood.
This year, the Oscar Red Carpet seats' application will be entirely
online. The ticket sales will be open for a week and the registrations will close on Monday, September 26.
If you want to be among the lucky Oscar Red Carpet ticket winners, log on to the Oscar website and click on Red Carpet Bleacher seats for an online application form.
The applicant must complete the form in its entirety. Applications for the Oscar tickets can be submitted only online, and will not be accepted through mail, fax or couriers. Multiple entries will be discarded.
Those lucky to win tickets to Oscar will be informed by Monday, October 3. Before the final approval, the winners will have to submit additional information for security reasons. The final list of winners will be out by December 1., 2005.
The Academy, in a rather terse note said:" No one will be admitted without the official Academy confirmation letter. Those attempting to wait outside overnight for admittance will not be permitted to do so."
This is only the fourth time, that the Academy has opened such a facility where Oscar fans can try their luck at Red Carpet tickets. The practice was started during the 74th Oscars. Last year, the Academy received 21000 online applications for the limited Bleacher seats.
