NDTV - Kingfisher to launch NDTV Good Times

4 September, 2007:

NDTV has announced the launch of its first Lifestyle channel, NDTV Good Times, in collaboration with Vijay Mallya's UB Group. NDTV Good Times will combine NDTV's expertise in programming with the lifestyle associations of the Kingfisher brand.

NDTV Good Times will be aimed at young, urban Indians and the programming mix will cater to the lifestyle dreams and expectations of its target audience. Since the target audience will be in the 20-40 years age bracket, NDTV Good Times will line up programs on fitness, parenthood, marriage, travel, and leisure.

The channel will include shows on food, late night chat shows, relationships, tech and gadget shows, Indian weddings, pet care, parties, health and wellness, fashion, cars and motor bikes. The channel will be free to air initially and available to viewers across India from September 7, 2007.

Initially, NDTV Good Times will have celebrities, such as actor Rajat Kapur, TV chef Manju Malhi, tech guru Rajiv Makhni, cocktail specialist Shatbhi Basu, and spa expert Devika Anand, hosting the shows.

Vijay Mallya’s UB Group is said to have pumped in a five-year advertisement commitment worth Rs 100 crore for NDTV Good Times.
