Kamera of Sweden to supply
channels to Vodafone Egypt

2 May, 2007: Kamera, the mobile
video specialist of Sweden, has
decided to supply Vodafone Egypt a
number of its channels tailored to the
local Arabic market.
The offering by Kamera will include
Arabic-language news channel ShortCut,
the sport service SportCall and the
entertainment channel WOW! TV.
The content agreement also includes
highlights from the upcoming Euro 2008
qualification football championship.
Besides providing its own channels,
Kamera’s Egyptian subsidiary SweGypt
will facilitate the distribution of
third-party channels to Vodafone’s
customers – including encoding of all
video live and near-live channels for
third parties, editing of third party
content and TV portal management.
As the mobile phone usage in the
pan-Arabic region is rising, Kamera
currently has a distribution agreement
with the Associated Press news agency
to provide fast-track, time-sensitive,
localised online and mobile video news
material in nine languages including
Mandarin, English, Spanish, German and
Russian.
