20 September, 2005:  Janmat, a current affairs TV channel in Hindi from Sri Adhikari Brothers is ready for launch. The new Hindi TV channel Janmat, which is positioned as a views channel has already received the necessary permissions from the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry. The channel is expected to be launched in early October.

Janmat will feature a reality talent show, in a unique attempt to find three fine news anchors in India. The show will go on air in December, said Markand Adhikari of Sri Adhikari Brothers. The reality show/talent hunt will be distinct from run-of-the-mill talent shows and spot and promote news anchors, he added.

Janmat already has TV news anchors like Vir Sanghvi, Harish Gupta, Umesh Upadhyay, Karan Thapar, Sandeep Bamzai etc in its fold.

Janmat is pitted as an interactive Hindi TV channel. hence, its anchors will combine the roles of the traditional TV news journalist and a VJ, it is expected. About 70% of the total programming content of Janmat is expected to be interactive, with audience involvement. Adhikari hopes to lure more viewers to Janmat with this.

Apart from talk shows, Janmat will feature social and political analyses, crime, lifestyle etc. SAB is also launching a Hindi TV channel - Mi Marathi - which will focus on general entertainment. Harish Gupta will be director news at Janmat, while Umesh Upadhyay will look after the channel's every day affairs.
