AEROSMITH AND IRON MAIDEN COMING TO INDIA

Iron Maiden, Sepultura & Aerosmith to perform in Bombay / Bangalore in 2007

BY A CORRESPONDENT
February 21, 2006

Three heavyweights of rock are all set to unleash the “beast” inside them in the Indian “territory” and get a “Taste of India”. Yes you heard it right, the rock gods - Iron Maiden - are going to perform in Bangalore on 17th of March, followed by the Sepultura on 1st of April in Mumbai and 2nd of April in Bangalore and followed by Aerosmith on 2nd June in Mumbai. The bands from 3 different continents are all set to rock Mumbai and Bangalore in the next 4 months. The bands are pouring in from 3 different continents i.e. Iron Maiden (Europe), Sepultura (South America) & Aerosmith (North America).

With the success of Roger Waters & Joe Satriani many top bands now are willing to come to India to perform. But it is restricted to either Mumbai or Bangalore as the organizers feel that the crowd turn up will be high in these two cities than the rest.

Aerosmith the band has always been fascinated with India, and have visited the country several times on personal trips.

Iron Maiden and Sepultura being the first ever international Metal acts to perform in India, security is a huge concern and a possibly aggressive violent crowd would gather at the venues from not only India but also India’s neighbors like Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh. March / April are the the hottest months of the year in India, and so dehydration would be huge huge worry for the crowd. If not enough security is provided at the venue this would lead to crowd violence and stampede.

If it’s your first time for a Metal Concert you need to know a few things:

Mosh Pit :is common in every metal show. The cops in India should be explained that if a mosh pit occurs not to intervene as it is part of the show.

A mosh pit is when people collide against each other just like atoms and molecules. If this starts and it’s your first time stay away from it as it may injure you. If you want to have some fun you can join the pit for once in a life time experience (but carefully).

Wall of Death : is another way of enjoying a metal concert.

People stand in two opposite corners like a wall and when one side charges, the other side also charge towards each other. Its almost like two trains colliding head-on with each other.

Hopefully all these things will make your concert more injury free. If you are not a freak then go somewhere in the corner for shelter. The first Metal bands to come to India and the security are surely going to have a tough time handling the violent crowd.
