Shah Rukh Khan bought the Kolkata Indian Premier League team last month. If Shah Rukh has done something, can Aamir Khan be far behind? According to news reports in the Indian media, Aamir Khan could likely be associated with the promoters of ICL to attract more viewership.

Aamir Khan is thought to have a passion for cricket, as can be seen from his Lagaan movie. As ICL is taking a backseat these days as the news of astrological figures for the big brother IPL comes in, the move to rope in Aamir Khan makes perfect sense.

Apparently sensing the advantages of having a crowd-puller like Aamir Khan being made the brand ambassador of the ICL, the promoters of the venture Essel Group, which is owned by Subhash Chandra, who is also the owner of Zee Sports, is planning to associate Aamir Khan with the month-long ICL Twenty20 tournament, which started on March 9.

According to reports in the Indian press, Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor could also become associated with the ICL Twenty20 tournament. When the ICL was launched in November last year, Kareena had participated in the function.

Ashish Kaul, executive vice-president, Essel group, has said that though he would not reveal the names of actors who would take part in ICL, negotiations are already underway with some.
