After the war for big players, the Indian Premium League teams have begun hunting for the super coaches. Many a big name in cricket world has already joined as coaches of different cash-rich IPL teams. With hype on IPL catching up aggressively, teams are busy recruiting celebrity veterans in international cricket to train the young lads on the new version of the game.
The Shah Rukh Khan-owned Kolkata Knight Riders has already bagged John Buchanan as coach. The team will be trained and guided by a team led by Buchanan. The team has also roped in the New South Wales coach, Matthew Mott as its assistant coach. Mott has been instrumental in guiding New South Wales team to win the Pura Cup two weeks back. Mott will join the Kolkata Knight Riders before their match against Bangalore on April 18.
Australian all rounder Tom Moody has been now coaching Mohali IPL team. He is also looking for the best competent side to coaching side to increase the prospects of his team in the coming Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty20 competition. It is said that a lot of discussions are on to induct Australian and New Zealand former cricketers to strengthen the coaching division of the team. Companies are now willing to pay as much money to build up a strong and competitive coaching side. Some teams are even thinking of appointing separate coaches in the batting, fielding and bowling departments. Moody’s Mohali team includes Indian players such as Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan and Sreesanth. Australians Brett Lee, Simon Katich, James Hopes and Luke Pomersbach, West Indian Ramnaresh Sarwan and Sri Lankans Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardane are part of the team.
The Jaipur Indian Premier League team has appointed Shane Warne as its coach and Captain. The team named “Rajastan Royals” is now looking for few more national figures to add muscles to their coaching department. The move is aimed at reduce the pressure on Shane Warne so that he could concentrate more on devising strategies as captain of the team. The Vijay Mallya-owned Team Bangalore had roped in the brilliant former cricketers in the coaching department. The former New Zealand captain Martin Crowe has joined as Chief Cricket Officer of the Bangalore team. The Indian team Bowling coach and former Bangalore Express Venkatesh Prasad would be the coach of the Bangalore IPL team. There are also reports that Indian Team’s recently dropped assistant coach Lalchand Rajput would soon join one of the IPL teams.
