Bangalore Royal Challengers’ Jacques Kallis wants separate tour window for IPL, says hectic schedule hindering all-rounders
Bangalore Royal Chalengers’ $900,000 buy Jacques Kallis has urged the ICC to have a separate tour window for IPL, saying the immense work load on players was hindering the chances of the game getting more all-rounders.
Jacques Kallis also said all-rounders would have to either stick to being Test players or ODI players to meet the hectic schedule. Jacques Kallis, a part of the South African squad se to play India in the first Test in Chennai said it was tough to turn down lucrative offers from IPL for many players.
Jacques Kallis reportedly told a cricket web site that the sole option is for the ICC to include IPL schedule as part of its Future Tours programme. But the ICC has declined to include IPL in it, saying no request on this regard has come from IPL organizers. Bangalore Royal Challengers is being promoted by Vijay Mallya’s UB Group.
