ICC may allow players to refer umpire’s decision to third umpires
The International Cricket Council is toying with the idea of allowing players to challenge umpires decision by referring it to TV umpires.
There have been many instances when decisions have gone awfully wrong, especially during India’s recent tour of Australia. Many believe umpiring errors cost India the Sydney test a reversal of which would have meant India would have won the Test series too. Australia beat India 2-1 in Tests, but India clinched the tri-series 2-0.
ICC is referring the idea to be tested in the England-South Africa series. If the boards agree, the trials would be conducted in that series.
We for one support accurate decisions instead of the sentimental idea that it would take away from the game.
