Syed Abbas Ali propels Delhi Giants to 6-wicket win over Mumbai Champs; Brian Lara out of ICL with Injury

Southpaw Syed Abbas Ali hit two sixes and seven ours to help propel Delhi Giants to a six wicket win over Mumbai Champs in the 3rd edition of the ICL Edelweiss Twenty20 cricket championship.

The 49 ball effort won Syed Abbas Ali the man of the match award.

Chasing Mumbai Champs’ 115, Delhi Giants scored 116 in 18.2 overs, losing 4 wickets.
Syed Abbas Ali is the grandson of Mushtaq Ali.

Mumbai Champs won the toss and captain Nathan Astle elected to bat. But only Nathan Astle (32 runs, 37 balls) and D S Yadav (27 runs, 28 balls) could make any significant contribution.

West Indian star Brian Lara, the captain of Mumbai Champs lasttime, has been ruled out of this edition due to an injury he suffered in January.
