A DANCEWITHSHADOWS REPORT -
6/9/2004
Looking for a Honda Unicorn motorcycle picture? Sorry, as of today there are no official pictures of the Honda Unicorn available in the media. However, BS Motoring has published a picture of a motorcycle on their website.
We also managed to access the same pic. - Honda

Apart from that, the current information is sketchy. Acording to Hindu Business Line, Honda is set to repeat their Activa
scooter success story in India with the Honda Unicorn
motorcycle. They write that just like how the Activa, Dio and Eterno took away the Indian scooter market from the Indian scooter manufacturers, the Unicorn from Honda Motorcyles and Scooters India Private Ltd (HMSI) will do the same to the Indian motorcycle market unless the Indian manufacturers pull up their socks.
What we know so far - The Honda Unicorn, Hnda's first motorcycle in India, will be a 150 cc motorcycle.
The motorcycle will have a unique monoshock suspension - a monoshock suspension is unique only in India! - and is expected to produce slightly more power than the Bajaj Pulsar 150 ( 12 bhp)
motorcycle while being more frugal in terms of fuel economy. The Unicorn
bike will probably take on other Indian motorcycles in quality, just the same way Honda did with the Activa and other scooters. Pricing of the Unicorn
motorcycle will be the key. The two-wheeler market expects it to be priced more or less the same as the Bajaj Pulsar
motorcycle - however, Bajaj is likely to drop prices for both its Pulsar
motorcycle models - the 150cc and the 180 cc - if that happens.

Unicorn motorcycle news tracker
Times of India says that the Honda Unicorn motorcycle will produce 13.2 bhp of power, and will have five gears. 0-60 in 5 seconds is the predicted acceleration
figure for the bike.
Meanwhile, BS Motoring has published a photo of the Unicorn
motorcycle on its website - this is entirely unofficial, and they make no claims as to the authenticity of the photograph. In the picture, the bike sports a tank that is similar to the one in the 'wanna fly' Honda
bike ad. BS Motoring says that the text on the tailpiece says MC-1 for Motorcycle 1.
Update: We have the motorcycle's photo independently of
BS Motoring - procured it from a website with some
strange language! See it at the top!
They also say that the Honda Unicorn motorcycle will sport 17 inch wheels and may be priced at around Rs 54,000.
Let's wait and see. Our first impression after seeing
the so-called Honda Unicorn motorcycle photo - if this
is the real thing, too bad. The motorcycle looks too
ordinary and jaded. See the Unicorn
motorcycle for yourself
