PHARMA - ORBUS-DOCPHARMA LICENSING AGREEMENT

Orbus inks supply pact with Docpharma

BY OUR PHARMA  CORRESPONDENT

July 30, 2005: Canada's Orbus Pharma had signed a drug Licensing and development agreement with Docpharma. The agreement will provide for payments on development milestones of 100,000 euros (US$120,585) plus expenses and a future supply agreement, Orbus said.

As per the agreement, Docpharma will market the unnamed product in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, and Orbus will retain marketing rights elsewhere. The development of the product is expected to be completed within a year, with regulatory submissions to follow. The company expects marketing approval in 2008.

The agreement with Docpharma would give it a strong European partner for further licensing opportunities for its generic product dossiers, Orbus added.
