US Airways to launch Philadelphia-Dublin summer flights

11 May, 2007: It's a time of the year when every International air carrier is hurrying to start new routes and US Airways is no exception. From October 28 onwards, the US Airways will launch its Philadelphia (PHL) to Dublin (DUB) flights.

US Airways will operate flights to Dublin on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays and the return flight back to Philadelphia will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

The Philadelphia - Dublin flight will be the twelfth flight that the US Airways operates to Europe this summer season. Dublin is a major tourist spot and US Airways is just following the habit of air carriers to operate seasonal flights to many a tourist destinations such as Dublin.

The Phoenix-based US Airways has now become the fifth largest domestic airline in the US. The airline is undergoing a bit of transformation under its new leadership.

Though the airline is in good financial condition, there had been some instances of computer problems in the past, especially at the passenger check-in kiosks. US Airways had failed in its bid to buy Delta Airlines earlier this year.
