Tiger Airways announces new summer schedule fares

Singapore's low fare carrier Tiger Airways is offering 700,000 seats with fares starting from S$1.88 that are open for traveling from March 25 to October 27, 2007. The new seats and fares were announced under the airline's summer flight schedules for northern region.
Separately, the carrier also announced the launch of a new direct service between Singapore and Udon Thani in Thailand, starting from January 9, 2007. The carrier also expects to hit a 2-million passenger mark this week.
The tickets are available for travel from Singapore to major destinations in the Asian region like Phuket, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City among others. The carrier is looking at roping in summer travellers from the region, while it has already begun sales of the tickets.
"The carrier is offering low fares time and time again for more low fare travel," said Tiger Airways Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer Rosalynn Tay in a statement.
"Our loyal customers book early to enjoy unbeatable travel deals. With 2006 coming to a close, we are pleased to launch our summer flights at fantastic low fares for new and seasoned LCC travelers to book their 2007 vacations now," the statement added.
The flight routes offered are from Singapore to Hatyai, Phuket, Krabi starting at S$1.88 for one-way excluding taxes and fees; Singapore to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Udon Thani at S$5.88 (one way excluding taxes and fees); Singapore to Darwin, Macau at S$8.88 and Singapore to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City at S$29.98.
The carrier also announced the launch of a new direct service between Singapore and Udon Thani in Thailand, starting from January 9, 2007. It is the only airline to operate scheduled flights between the two destinations.
In September 2006, Tiger Airways signed a marketing agreement with Philippine's airline SEAir to operate flights out of Clark Field, Philippines. Initial routes include Clark-Macau, Clark-Singapore, Clark-Davao and Clark-Cebu services. As part of the agreement, Tiger Airways will base two new Airbus A320 aircraft at Clark Field. Tiger Airways expects to announce additional overseas operations around the region soon, giving it the potential to expand its network exponentially in the Asia Pacific region.
Tiger Airways is also expecting to hit a 2-million passenger mark this week, and its The second million passenger mark comes barely four months after the airline had hit its 1.5 million passenger mark in August and nine months from its 1 million passenger mark in March 2006.
