Karnataka an important market for Singapore Airlines.

May 19, 2006

Singapore Airlines has cut the ticket fares for its Bangalore - Singapore route. The new fare will be Rs 4,999. This rate is lower than its current lowest economy return fare to Singapore-Bangalore.

The new fare is exclusive of taxes and surcharges, which amount to Rs 6,100. The passenger will have to pay this additional fare for the flight. Karnataka will continue to be an important market for the airline, said Mr BK Ong, General Manager, Singapore Airlines.

The ticket sale for the new fare will be from April 17 to April 29 and for flight out of Bangalore from April 17 to May 31. Singapore Airlines' outbound travel is restricted to travel on Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday flights only. But return tickets for the same scheme can be had as per availability.

Currently, Singapore Airlines has 47 weekly flights to eight locations in India. SilkAir, the regional of Singapore Airlines operates four flights to Thiruvananthapuram and five flights to Kochi.

Singapore Airlines is all set to become the first airline to fly Airbus A380 in 2006.
