SINGAPORE AIRLINES TRAVEL SCHEME

Singapore Airlines offers transit adventure scheme

21 November, 2007:

Singapore Airlines (SA) and the Singapore Tourism board have launched a new travel scheme to attract global travelers.

Titled, Your Uniquely Singapore Transit Adventure, leisure travelers who opt to buy tickets as per the plan, will see their flight make a quick stopover at Singapore's Changi Airport and they can take a break to hop onto a Free City Shuttle and have a free meal at any one of the three stops namely Little India, Suntec City Mall, or Bugis.

Valid up to December 31, 2007, the scheme is expected to interest Indian passengers. According to a report, Indian passengers who do not hold a valid Singapore visa and are in transit with an onward journey to any third country will be eligible for the Free City Shuttle if they are in possession of a valid onward ticket departing within the next four days. They will also need to satisfy criteria such as possessing a valid visa or long-term pass issued by any of the following countries: Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, the UK, the US, Germany, and Switzerland.

The report added that transit passengers who satisfy these norms may get even lucky by winning up to four days in Singapore.

Promotion of a Singapore leisure tour is the main aim of this plan, say analysts. The airline has always been in the forefront of entertaining its clients. Earlier Singapore Airlines was in the news for being the first airline in the world to offer 3D games as part of its in-flight entertainment system.
