In the coming months, Estonian Air will shut down its Manchester-Dublin direct flights. Because of the demand from travellers, the summer flight schedule will undergo a readjustment. the changes will be for those flying between all Scandinavian routes and Kiev.
"Adjusting the flight schedule is an economical decision. Direct flights to Manchester and Dublin have not justified themselves. At the same time there is more demand to many other destinations than what we
can offer today," said Mart Relve, Estonian Air Vice President. He also said that the major issue was to create sufficient demand for a small market like that of Estonia.
Estonian Air recently started new flights to Simferopol and Dubrovnik this year. From Mid-May, it will start new flights to Barcelona. Said Relve, "Dubrovnik has become very popular and the other new destinations of this season are selling very well too."
He also said that they will plan new flights once they get new Boeings and he said that the process has already been started. The airline will close its Manchester flights from July 1 and the Dublin flights
from September 1.
Wintertime demand on the Hamburg flight route has been weak for years. Last year we used the winter suspension tactics in the Paris route and it seems to be working well," said Relve.
Estonian Air is owned by Estonian state, SAS Group and Cresco investment bank. The airline currently operates flights to 17 destinations to Europe.
