Kingfisher flies into WorldPerks
alliance

Kingfisher Airlines has joined the
Northwest WorldPerks program as a
partner airline. The partnership is
expected to provide added benefits to
Northwest’s WorldPerks members
traveling within India, said a report.
With the deal in place, WorldPerks
members can earn and redeem frequent
flyer miles on Kingfisher to 28 key
Indian business and leisure
destinations with its new fleet of 26
Airbus aircraft.
Northwest Airlines has welcomed
Kingfisher Airlines as a member of our
expanding WorldPerks partner network
in a belief that the expanded travel
opportunities Kingfisher presents will
be popular award destinations with the
WorldPerks members, and also provide
added value to the entire WorldPerks
program. Northwest, through its joint
venture partnership with KLM Royal
Dutch Airlines, has provided service
to India since 1997, and currently
offers 18 weekly flights from the U.S.
to India via Amsterdam. Joint venture
flights serve Mumbai, Delhi and
Hyderabad, said the report.
Detailing the partnership, an industry
communication said that it also
includes convenient electronic
ticketing and through check-in
services for all passengers when
connecting between Northwest and
Kingfisher flights. This apart,
Northwest WorldClub members and World
Business Class customers will have
access to Kingfisher’s airport lounges
in India.
Kingfisher, which operates more than
160 flights a day, is a popular
airline brand today respected for its
efforts to create a unique Indian
atmosphere for its customers. The
partnership with Northwest Airlines,
one among the world’s largest airlines
with hubs at Detroit, Minneapolis,
Memphis, Tokyo and Amsterdam, operates
around 1,400 daily departures.
