Thiruvananthapuram has finally got a taste of Kingfisher. Vijay Mallya’s Kingfisher Airlines touched base in the Kerala capital to an extravagant welcome led by the state tourism minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

Guests who were in the maiden flight, which marked the launch of Kingfisher’s direct flights between Bangalore and Thiruvananthapuram, were treated to a cultural extravaganza which ranged from a caparisoned elephant to a traditional Kathakali performance.

Kingfisher’s daily Thiruvananthapuram-Bangalore flight is part of the company’s aim to provide connectivity between metros and mini-metros across the country. The Bangalore-Thiruvananthapuram fares range from Rs 2475 for level 1, Rs 3425 for level 2, Rs 4725 for level 3, Rs 6025 for level 4, Rs 6925 for level 5 to Rs 7625 for level 7. The fare will come with an amount of Rs 750 as taxes, said reports.

According to the airline, the Bangalore- Thiruvananthapuram flight will take off from Bangalore at 6.40 m and 6.30 pm and land in Thiruvananthapuram at 8.10 m and 8 pm respectively. The return flights will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 8.40 am and 8.30 pm and land in Bangalore at 10.10 am and 10 pm respectively.

At this moment, we have no further information on any future flights to Kerala from Kingfisher Airlines.
