Red carpet welcome likely for new
UAE airline Kang Pacific
27 August, 2007:
JFujairah’s air travelers are
reported to be eagerly waiting to see
the quality of services that will be
on offer when the new UAE-based
airline Kang Pacific begins commercial
services out of Fujairah.
Kang Pacific, which would be the fifth
airline in the UAE, is expected to be
under passenger scrutiny and will
attract comparison between majors such
as Emirates, Etihad, and Air Arabia,
as well as another newcomer RAK
Airline. Passengers are most likely to
check the price, safety record and
comforts provided for economy tickets
before traveling with the airline.
Meanwhile, Fujairah residents, who
believe that the new airline would
make life better, have welcomed the
prospect of an airline closer to home,
which could spell an end to the ritual
commute to Sharjah or Dubai to travel.
They have been forced to drive two
hours to Dubai for the past four years
en route to Nigeria or the UK.
The expected arrival of the new
airline is also seen as a boost to
tourism. According to tourism players,
it was particularly good news for the
tourism industry, with easier access
to the popular coastal retreat. The
airline, which is expected to start
operations in October 2007, will
initially operate flights to
Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, and the
Philippines.
