Fly Mumbai-Kuala Lumpur with
EgyptAir
4 June, 2007:
Egypt’s national airline, EgyptAir,
has kicked off operations to India
with a new service from Mumbai to
Kuala Lumpur. The service which began
on June 2 will operate three flights a
week, every Monday, Wednesday and
Saturday from Mumbai to Kuala Lumpur
and vice versa, said a report.
Various Indian and International
airlines currently fly services
between Mumbai and Kuala Lumpur.
According to the report, EgyptAir will
offer the cheapest air fare between
Egypt-India-Malaysia. It has also been
reported that EgyptAir is also set to
increase the frequency of its Mumbai
to Cairo route from two to three
flights-per-week with immediate and
direct connection to London, Europe,
America, Africa, and Middle East
areas.
The Airbus 330, which EgyptAir is to
fly on the route, will have 268 seats
in a twin-aisle configuration, with 24
seats in the business class and 244
seats in the economy zone. EgyptAir
had been mulling over flights to Kuala
Lumpur for quite some time due to its
proximity to India. India is now the
second fastest growing economy in the
world and the demand for frequent
travel to and from the Middle East
will continue to increase for the
foreseeable future, said an EgyptAir
official.
Analysts said that the start of the
new flight service between Mumbai and
the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur
will benefit lakhs of Indians and
Malaysians travelling, living and
working in Kuala Lumpur. The service
will also help leisure travelers
flying from Europe and the Gulf
countries via India for a vacation in
Malaysia, a report added.
