Air New Zealand places orders for
four more Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners
Boeing's Dreamliner aircraft still
racking up orders; New Zealand orders
four more aircraft.

Air New Zealand has placed a third
order for the popular Boeing 787-9
Dreamliners, thus making its total
order to 8 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.
Air New Zealand had in December
announced that it would be placing
another order with the Boeing for the
787 Dreamliner.
The latest order from Air New Zealand
for Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is for
four aircrafts. The delivery of the
ordered flights is bound to happen
betweeb 2011 and 2013 and the order
value is expected to be around USD
700million st list prices.
Air New Zealand had placed its first
order for the Dreamliner in 2004, thus
making it the only second airline to
order a Dreamliner. In 2005, Air New
Zealand added two more orders for
Dreamliner.
Stan Deal, vice president, Sales -
Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said,
"Air New Zealand has proven itself to
be a very progressive airline in
managing its costs while maintaining
high levels of service and
reliability. We are very proud to
partner with Air New Zealand in
providing the airplanes that will
allow the airline to build upon its
great international reputation."
The airline was committed to launching
atleast one new international route
every year, Air New Zealand had said
in December.
Boeing expects the new 787-9
Dreamliner to be an exceptional
aircraft, exceeding conventional norms
with new engines and composite
technologies. Boeing is said to have
received 468 orders and commitments
from 37 customers around the globe.
