American Airlines' special fares and offers for military personnel

The members of the US army can now enjoy special fares while travelling in American Airlines. The package is available till January, 19, 2007. The scheme is applicable only for the active members of the US military. The offers announced include low fares, relaxed advance purchase requirements and preferred boarding privileges.

Dan Garton, American's Executive Vice President of Marketing, American Airlines said, ""American Airlines is pleased to extend these special offers for members of our armed forces. We appreciate their ongoing
commitment and sacrifice -- and that of their families as well. Our military personnel and their families are truly extraordinary, and we look forward to serving them on our flights."

Those who come under the privileges include active members of US Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, National guard and Reserves who are either on leave or furlough and their spouse and dependent
children.

The tickets can be purchased upto a week after the reservations are made, which makes it easy for the military personnel to make flight arrangements. The discounted fare facility can be had either at American Airlines booking stations of by calling the reservation number 1-800-433-7300.

The military fares are not available through the Net.
