Al-Jazeera Airways heads for Tehran

BY OUR AVIATION CORRESPONDENT

March 16, 2007: Low cost carriers are crowding the skies. With all its peers going for the kill, Kuwait-based low-cost carrier Al-Jazeera Airways too isn’t ready to sit idle. The Al-Jazeera Airways has announced that it would launch operations from Kuwait City to Tehran on March 26.

The airline plans to operate three days a week, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. The upcoming operations of the Al-Jazeera Airways will make sure that Tehran is the twentieth destination of the airline. According the airline top brass, selection of Tehran was done due to its rich cultural heritage, natural sights, and traditional markets in all four seasons. These unique features are expected provide Al-Jazeera’s customers with the opportunity to visit the exotic beauty of Iran. Tehran is a tourist’s delight with plenty of skiing in Dezin, Shemshak and Abali and various other attractions.

Al-Jazeera is the third low cost airline in Middle East and North Africa region after Air Arabia (United Arab Emirates) and Atlas Blue (Morocco).
