Air Deccan Trivandrum-Delhi, Trivandrum-Mumbai flights from April 23

Air Deccan already has Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram-Bangalore flights.

Low-cost airline Air Deccan's Mumbai-Thiruvananthapuram and Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram flights are starting from April 23. Air Deccan is also setting up its seventh base in Trivandrum, to cater to the growing air traffic from this southern city.

"There is a lot of demand from our passengers for flights to Thiruvananthapuram which has been till now been serviced only by traditional full service airlines. Passengers, especially international travellers are seeking for services, especially from low-cost carriers," Air Deccan Managing Director G R Gopinath said in a statement.

The carrier plans to start flights on two sectors: Thiruvananthapuram-Delhi via Chennai and Thiruvananthapuram-Mumbai via Kochi. Thiruvananthapuram is already connected by Air Deccan to Chennai and Bangalore with daily flights, and the addition of the flights will make Air Deccan to service all busy routes from the state capital.
