Apple launches Macbook Air

Apple once again thrills the Notebook fans by launching MacBook Air 11 inch and 13 inch versions in India. The new Mac Book Air 11 inch and 13 inch are slender and portable with solid state flash storage technology.
These two new versions will be available in all Apple retail outlets in India. The MacBook Air 11 inch with 2GB of memory and 64GB of flash storage is priced at Rs 60,900, while 128GB model at Rs 72,900. The 1.86 GHz 13-inch MacBook Air with 2GB of memory and 128GB of flash storage is available at Rs 79,900 and 256GB model at a cost Rs 98,900.
The distinct feature of MacBook Air 11 inch and 13 inch versions is its ability to replace the hard disks and optical drives with Internet services and solid state flash storage. The solid state flash storage has faster storage power as hard disk storage; it eliminates the hard disk crash, and gives weightless touch to the model with 90 per cent smaller and lighter storage than hard drives.
MacBook Air goes green by adopting advanced chemistry and Adaptive Charging technology that can withstand 7 hours of battery life on a single charge and up to 30 days of standby time. MacBook Air built-in battery design thus reduces energy wastage and bags EPEAT Gold status and meets Energy Star 5.0 requirements.
The MacBook Air 11-inch weighs 2.3 pounds with 0.68-inches thickness while MacBook Air 13-inch weighs 2.9 pounds. MacBook Air features aluminum unibody, full size keyboard, flash storage, Intel Core 2 Duo processors, NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics, high-resolution LED-backlit display and Mini DisplayPort to 27-inch Apple LED Cinema Display, projector or HD TV. The 13-inch MacBook Air incorporates SD card slot.
The glass multi-touch track pad supports scroll through web sites, flip through photos, and resize or rotate images. The MacBook Air also features built-in FaceTime camera, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, two USB port s, 802.11n Wi-Fi networking, mic and stereo speakers.
The MacBook Air is made of mercury-free, arsenic-free, and PVC free recyclable components. The MacBook Air runs on Mac OS X Snow Leopard operating system that supports file sharing, automated data backup, multi-touch navigation, advanced wireless networking, and power management.
The iLife 11 application features iPhoto that enable full screen views for browsing, editing and sharing photos. The iLife 11 is available in pack modes, where users can avail them either at Rs 2800 or Rs 4400(family pack, 5 licenses) and MacBox at Rs 9700.
The iMovie transforms videos to trailers and with GarageBand songs of different sound tracks can be tuned. The users may also avail configure-to-order options and accessories. It includes faster processors, 4GB of memory, MacBook Air SuperDrive and a USB Ethernet Adapter.
