General hospital rape case -- Bail pleas dismissed

CHANDIGARH, Aug 2: Bail applications of Vijay Kumar, Dhani Ram and Laik Ram, accused of raping a 22-year-old in Sector 16 General Hospital, were declined by the court today.

Rejecting the bail applications of the trio, UT Additional District and Sessions Judge S.S. Lamba observed the offence is of a serious nature and affects the entire society. He held that if such people are allowed to roam about freely, no woman will safe in going to the hospital to get herself examined.
