Here is music to the ears of Spice Girls fans. Ending months of speculation, the all-female Spice Girls band has reached an agreement to reunite later in 2007.

Spice Girls Reunion Tour

According to the Mirror newspaper, details of the 25-date world tour and release of the Greatest Hits album will be officially confirmed by the end of June.

The girls – Sporty, Posh, Scary, Ginger and Baby – are getting set for a mega world tour that would take them across the five continents.

The newspaper quoted an inside source saying that the five members of Spice Girls will each earn £10 million from the ‘final goodbye.’ The source said: “This deal has taken years to sign off, but finally all of the girls are on board. It’s going to be one of the most phenomenal pop events ever. No expense is being spared to make this an unrivalled spectacular. They feel they didn’t get to say goodbye properly when they split.”

During the reunion world tour, the five women will each have a private jet to take them between the concerts around the globe to enable their families and entourages to travel with them. “Things have," the source added, “changed a lot since the girls’ heydays. Back then they were all pretty much commitment-free. But now all of them except Melanie Chisholm have kids and with that come nannies and other issues.”

The source revealed that it was Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell who was the driving force behind the reunion tour. “Geri Halliwell doesn’t want to be apart from daughter Bluebell for the tour, and the only reason Victoria Beckham has agreed is so that her sons can see what she used to do. That all needed to be taken into account.”

The Spice Girls reunion world tour concerts, starting in London, will take place from December 2007 until the end of January 2008. “The United Kingdom is the girls’ home so that’s where they’ll start, and the band still have a huge following in Japan so naturally they’ll be playing there,” the Mirror quoted the source as saying.

Venues like Shanghai in China are on the tour list because the Spice Girls want to reach as many fans around the globe as they can manage.

The Spice Girls band became a global sensation in 1996 when their debut single Wannabe album climbed to the top of the music charts. However, a few years later, trouble started and the band split in 2001. Halliwell had already walked out of the group in May 1998.
