Being voted the “unsexiest” woman
doesn’t bother Sara Jessica Parker,
star of the hugely popular Sex and the
City. Or, at least, that is what she
says.
Sara Jessica Parker, 42, was awarded
the dubious distinction of the
Unsexiest Woman Alive, in the online
poll conducted by the men’s website
Maxim.com in October 2007. The
results were published in the November
2007 issue of the magazine.
Well, Sarah has gone public insisting
that being named the Unsexiest Woman
Alive doesn’t unsettle her that and
she doesn’t care if people find her
beautiful or not. What is more, she
doesn’t consider herself sexy, either.
Sarah Jessica Parker, who is married
to actor Matthew Broderick and has a
son aged 5, is currently filming the
movie version of her hit television
show Sex and the City.
Responding to the result of the Maxim
poll, Sara was quoted by a magazine
published from the United States as
saying, “What they don’t know is that
one day I’ll wake up fat. But I’ll
still be happy, just like I am now. I
believe in the old ‘sticks and stones’
philosophy, so frankly their words
don’t come close to hurting.”
“And, it does not bother me in the
least if people don’t think I’m sexy.
I don’t think I am, either,” she
added.
The writers who compiled the poll on
the website Maxim.com had, in a biting
attack, compared Sara Jessica Parker
to Barbaro and Secretariat, famous
racehorses of the United States. Going
further, these writers maintained that
they would “rather get up close and
personal with” Chris Noth, Sara’s
co-star in Sex and the City.
One writer on Maxim.com went so far as
to say, “How the hell did this Barbaro-faced
broad manage to be the least sexy
woman in a group of very unsexy women
and still star on a show with ‘sex’ in
the title? Pull your skirt down,
Secretariat, we would rather ride your
co-star Chris Noth!”
Coming second on Maxim’s list of
world’s “unsexiest woman alive” was
British singer Amy Winehouse, who was
described as having “hemorrhaging
translucent skin,” “rat’s nest mane”
and “lashes that look more like
surgically attached bats.”
The third place went to Sandra Oh,
star of Grey’s Anatomy, for her “cold
bedside manner and boyish figure.”
And, pop stars Madonna and Britney
Spears took the fourth and fifth
places, respectively.
Maxim.com termed Madonna as “Willem
Dafoe with hot flashes.” Britney
Spears gained the dubious honor for
having gained weight slightly and for
“losing the ability to perform.”
