How much does an empty dog-food can retrieved from Paris Hilton’s trash fetch? Well, it was bought for $305 (224 euros) in an auction conducted by eBay.

Though Paris Hilton’s trash failed to fetch the millions expected on internet auction site eBay, it raked in substantial profit for its sellers as bidding closed on July 1, 2007.

The bidding had reached $1.5 million (1.1 million euros), but some of the bids were retracted or cancelled because the wrong amount was entered or they were not legitimate.

The sellers were from the website HollywoodStarTrash.com, which also listed Paris Hilton's other personal items for sale on eBay.

Paris Hilton’s things put on auction included a used toothbrush that sold for $305 (224 euros) and two envelopes sent to her while she was in jail that sold for $510 (375 euros).

A Coca-Cola can pulled from the celebrity rubbish went for $51.

The organic dog-food was produced by Party Animal Incorporated and can be found in about 150 stores in Southern California and about 40 stores in New York. It can also be bought through the company’s website.

Paris Hilton – actress, socialite and heiress to Hilton hotels – was released from prison last week after serving part of a sentence for motoring offences.

Meanwhile, reports say that Paris Hilton has lied about abstaining from drugs. She had declared at the Larry King Live interview, after she completed her 23-day jail sentence, that she has not used drugs at all. She had told Larry King that her experience was “traumatic” and that the world will soon see a new Paris. However, New York Daily News, quoting more than one source, said the paper has confirmed the socialite’s customary marijuana habit.

Rumor has it that Paris Hilton is planning to move out of her current Hollywood home because her house is too close to night spots that she has been trying to avoid ever since leaving prison in Los Angeles. The star of Simple Life has decided to move to Beverly Hills, which will have quieter neighbours compared to those in her present locality. Entertainment Tonight reported on its website that Paris Hilton spent her first weekend of freedom in Maui, Hawaii. Photos of former prison inmate 9818783 showed the heiress frolicking in the ocean and boogie-boarding. Ashley Scott, Paris Hilton’s friend and star of Jericho, was with her on the trip. Before Paris Hilton boarded a plane bound for Hawaii, she hung out in United Airlines’ VIP lounge and watched clips of herself on Larry King Live.
