Earl Woods, father of top golfer Tiger Woods, makes an entry into a Nike video commercial starring his son – if only it’s just the voice.

The new Tiger Woods ad commercial for Nike is releasing on ESPN and Golf Channel in the US today. It shows a video of Tiger Woods looking directly into the camera, at the viewer, with the voice of Earl Woods in the background: “I want to find out what your thinking was; I want to find out what your feelings are. Did you learn anything.”

The Nike commercial is not released at the time of publishing this story; we hope the video will make it into Youtube sometime today. We will be updating this story with the new Tiger Woods Nike commercial when that happens.

Earl Woods, Tiger Woods’ father who fought in the Vietnam war and coached his son extensively in Golf during his formative years, died in 2006. The voice of Earl Woods is from a recording made several years back. The new black & white Tiger Woods ad ends in a Nike swoosh, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Nike is one of the very few corporate bigwigs who have stood with Tiger Woods through thick and thin. Tiger Woods has been representing Nike in several TV commercials for the last 14 years.

Ever since a freak car accident which landed him in the hospital in November 2009, several salacious details about Tiger Woods’ personal life have come out in the open. Many corporates have snapped their endorsement deals with Tiger Woods, while many others have withdrawn their television and print ads showing the world’s No.1 golfer.

The new black and white video of Tiger Woods featuring his father’s voice was shot near the Isleworth Country Club golf course near Florida, where Tiger Woods lives, said reports. The new Tiger Woods commercial will run on ESPN and Golf Channel. The new ad is being released on the same day that Tiger Woods is making a return to golf after a brief sabbatical.

Ever since the accident, at least nine women have gone public with details of what they claimed to be intimate relationships with Tiger Woods. Jamie Jungers, 26, a waitress claimed she had a relationship with Tiger Woods for 18 months, and said she had met him in Las Vegas. Mindy Lawton famously claimed that Tiger Woods is ‘well-endowed’, followed by another statement that she had wild sex with Tiger Woods at his mansion when Tiger’s wife was expecting her first child. Mindy claimed that her affair with Tiger Woods lasted nearly an year.

Cori Rist was reported by NY Daily News as having had an affair with Tiger Woods for six months, though Rist, a mother, stayed mum on the issue. Holly Sampson, a soft porn actress was linked to Tiger Woods, though she herself hasnt made any comment – neither yes nor no – on the issue. Ms Samspon started her career with hardcore movies, but moved to soft porn later.

Life & Style reported that Kalika Moquin a Vegas night club manager had a fling with Tiger Woods for several months, though Moquin herself hasnt commented on the Woods scandal. Jaimee Grubbs, a reality TV star and cocktail waitress claimed that she had a nearly-three year relationship with Tiger Woods, with at least 20 sexual encounters. Grubbs even claimed that Woods asked her to remove her name from the phone directory since his own wife may call her. Jamiee Grubbs even claimed that she has the Tiger Woods voice mail with her.

Rachel Uchitel was one of the more famous among the “Woods women”: Though she has denied having any affair with Tiger Woods, media reports had linked Rachel Uchitel to Tiger Woods a week before the car accident. Apparently, Tiger Woods had even paid for her trip to Australia so he could meet her there.

Though some of these claims may be just wild claims at attempts at gaining publicity with a Woods-link, the fact remains that Woods himself has apologised for his “transgressions” several times. But the latest Tiger Woods press conference was thin on the details of his private life, and he responded to a reporter that the reasons for his rehab were “personal, thank you.” Tiger pretty much skimmed over the questions concerning the scandals which have surrounded him since November.
