Lindsay Lohan, the star of Mean
Girls, who is currently undergoing her
third stint in a rehabilitation
centre, has been described as a “model
patient.”
TMZ.com says that this time around,
Lindsay Lohan, who checked into the
Cirque Lodge in Utah, the United
States, in the first week of August
2007, has decided to take the stay in
rehab seriously and is receiving no
special treatment from staff members.
The Cirque Lodge describes itself
as America’s most exclusive drug
rehabilitation centre. Richard Losee,
the facility’s founder, was quoted as
saying that the rehab provides enough
chances for all residents to turn
sober and it is up to them to kick
their addiction.
Lindsay, 21, is undergoing the
daily 12-step program at the rehab,
including meetings every day and
one-on-one chats with psychologists
and psychiatrists.
At other times in the day and night,
Lindsay is asked to wash dishes, clean
toilets, and do laundry.
She has not been offered a private
room and has two roommates.
Lindsay Lohan was arrested on July 24,
2007, for driving under influence,
possession of cocaine, and driving on
a suspended licence.
She was speeding through the streets
of Los Angeles, reportedly boasting
that she couldn’t get into trouble
because she is famous. It is said that
Lindsay was chasing her assistant’s
mother through Los Angeles.
Two months earlier, a crash during the
Memorial Day weekend had landed her in
rehab for 45 days.
The program at the Cirque Lodge in
Utah – which offers a steak-and-salmon
menu, breathtaking views and jacuzzi
tubs – costs $30,000 for a 30-day
stay. Former clients are rumoured to
include David Hasselhoff and Mary-Kate
Olsen.
The Cirque Lodge, housed in a
converted TV studio and nestled in the
mountains, offers many treatments out
of doors.
TMZ.com said Lindsay Lohan was
transferred to the Utah centre from a
detoxification facility in Los
Angeles, where she spent eight days
immediately after being arrested.
The Daily Mail newspaper quoted a
relative of Lindsay’s as saying that,
like the previous two facilities, the
current rehab centre is also more like
a resort than a clinic.
Lindsay Lohan’s latest movie I Know
Who Killed Me had crashed at the box
office and was ridiculed by critics.
To add to her woes, Lindsay’s parents
are preparing to divorce.
