Kevin Federline is bent on getting
custody of his two young sons, Sean
Preston and Jayden James, after his
divorce with pop superstar Britney
Spears.
The chief administrator at Promises,
the drug treatment facility where
Britney Spears completed a stint in
March 2007, has been served with a
deposition subpoena.
It was the fifth subpoena handed out
by Kevin Federline’s lawyers, who are
battling Britney Spears for custody of
the couple’s two young sons.
Britney Spears was released from rehab
on March 21, 2007, after spending a
month at Promises.
Britney’s manager had said at that
time that Britney had “successfully”
completed the treatment program, but
Britney has since been seen out
partying.
Divorce lawyer Sue Moss, who is not
tied to the case, said the Kevin
Federline camp is trying to gauge just
how successful Britney’s stay in the
facility was and that the Promises
records would most likely be
admissible in court.
“Doctor-patient privilege only applies
to the doctor or the nurse or somebody
giving medical treatment,” Moss told
the New York Daily News. “It probably
will not be expanded to an
administrator.”
Sue Moss added: “Because there is an
issue of substance abuse and Britney’s
mental state in this custody battle,
the judge is probably going to allow
it.”
Laura Wasser, Britney’s lawyer, is
reportedly quitting the case and has
advised the pop star about other legal
representation.
Britney’s assistant Alli Sims, former
assistant Shannon Funk, former
bodyguard Daimon Shippen, and music
producer Jonathan Rotem have already
been served with deposition subpoena.
The News of the World has reported
that Britney Spears is in danger of
losing her young children to Kevin
Federline a result of her alleged
depraved behavior.
