Halle Berry confirms she’s three months pregnant

Halle Berry, the Oscar-winning Hollywood actress, has confirmed that she is three months pregnant with the baby of boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.

In an e-mail to celebrity TV show Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell, Halle Berry, 41, said: “Yes, I am three months pregnant! Gabriel and I are beyond excited, and I’ve waited a long time for this moment in life. Now the next seven months will be the longest of my life!”

“My sights are set on a different chapter in my life, which is motherhood. That’s the goal I have very clearly set for myself,” Halle Berry had told Parade in an interview earlier in 2007.

In April 2007, she had told Access Hollywood that she had reached a point where she was “really, really ready” to procreate.

In 2006, Halle Berry had told US talk show host Oprah Winfrey, “If there’s no serious man in my life, whoever I’m dating at the time, I'll say, ‘Hey, would you like to have a baby?”

And, hours after Halle Berry declared that she was pregnant, reports started pouring in that the expected baby had halted production of Halle Berry's upcoming film Tulia.

According to Celebrity news website TMZ.com, the producers of Tulia have postponed production of the movie, and also scrapped plans to start filming
in October 2007 on account of the actress’ pregnancy.

Tulia, directed by John Singleton and also starring Billy Bob Thornton, was scheduled for release in 2008. The film is based on the drug and racial profiling scandal in Tulia, Texas.

Halle Berry, born to an African-American father and white mother on August 14, 1968, in Cleveland, Ohio, the United States, came into the limelight at
the age of 17 when she became the winner of the Miss Teen All-American Pageant, and subsequently became a model.

The star of X-Men and Perfect Stranger moved from the world of beauty pageants in the mid-1980s to a television series titled Living Dolls in 1989. Two years later, Halle Berry began acting in feature films, including Spike Lee’s Jungle Fever.

Blessed with a combination of talent, tenacity, and beauty, Halle Berry became one of Hollywood’s busiest actors. She bagged an Oscar on March 24, 2002, for her sterling performance in the movie Monster’s Ball, making her the first African-American ever to win an Oscar for best actress.

Halle Berry has been married twice – first to Atlanta Braves baseball star David Justice from 1992 to 1996, and then to R&B musician Eric Benét from 2001 to 2005.

She is currently dating French-Canadian model Gabriel Aubry, 31, her boyfriend for two years. Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry met in 2005 when they were shooting an advertisement for Versace.
